An IPA exists for two primary reasons: to help its members obtain
the best possible contracts, and to enhance the profitability of
each practice.
Those are great goals…if you achieve them. Unfortunately,
many IPA’s have no clear idea what to do and how to do it
once they’re formed. That’s where Joel. S. Duhl, Inc.
can help.
We’ve managed multiple IPA’s around the country, and
helped them achieve the goals they’ve set for themselves.
We can provide services such as:
Start-up and organization: we
can help your IPA organize, elect a board, set priorities, plan
and run board meetings, and formulate ways to communicate with
members.
Market analysis and strategic planning: we analyze the
payors in the organization’s service area to identify the
best opportunities. This information is used to form a strategic
plan for the organization for the next two years. It will identify
contracting opportunities, potential third party administrators,
and other important resources.
Contract negotiation: we will handle all of the complexities
of contract negotiation. This could include contracts for the IPA
as a whole, as well as contracts desired by one or more individual
practices. We will help all members understand the impact of every
proposal by showing each practice how the proposed contract would
have impacted their business in the previous year, using a historical
CPT analysis.
Group purchasing programs: if desired, we will negotiate
group purchasing terms for items such as office supplies, medical
supplies, and other materials as requested.
Education : we will coordinate speakers and educational
opportunities as requested around the issues that are most important
to the IPA.
(Note: we recommend that the IPA retain legal representation also,
since Joel S. Duhl, Inc. does not provide legal advice.) |
